“You grow up the day you have your first real laugh at yourself.” ~Ethyl Barrymore
Melissa’s Words of Wisdom
This happened a few years back, but I still love to tell the story because I laugh so hard every time I even think of it … Imagine… It was a cold, rainy, and WINDY day in Wisconsin. (Not too uncommon for WI!) I was on my way to a lunch appointment and while getting out of my car, the heal of my shoe got caught in my cell phone charger cord. My tangled feet stayed in the car while the rest of my body fell onto the sopping wet pavement. “Luckily” my face broke my fall! Yes, my face! I quickly looked up to see if anyone saw my graceful fall. It brought me great happiness to that there were no witnesses! I probably should have been paying less attention to innocent bystanders and more attention to my skirt, because it was as if someone had hung me upside down and let my skirt hang into my face!! I quickly pulled myself back up into my car, brushed yourself off, including the gravel and pebbles from my face. It brought me relief to see I had only endured a few small scratches. I began to laugh and then proceeded to share the funny story with others the rest of the day. It was waaaaay too funny not to share! I am NOT encouraging falling… safety first of course, but once you know you’re OK, then LAUGH IT OFF! What can you laugh off today? BE SAFE and Happy Laughing!!
