“True leadership cannot be awarded, appointed, or assigned. It comes only from influence, and that cannot be mandated. It must be earned.” — John Maxwell
Melissa’s Words of Wisdom
Just because someone has been assigned a big fancy title, that does not make them a great leader. I’m sure everyone at one time or another has experienced a poor leader with a big fancy title before. The big fancy title does not mean you respect that person nor that you believe what they believe. It merely means they are in a position of authority that was assigned to them. Those who have developed and earned their leadership role are the ones who have earned your respect and inspire you to want to follow them… not because you have to, but because YOU want to. Now that’s influence! Remember, nothing happens until you decide to take action! Leave a comment below about how you earn the respect of those you lead and how you inspire them. Happy Influencing and Inspiring Through Your Leadership!
