“When people are dying they say one of two things, ‘I wish I had…’ or ‘I am glad I did….’ ” — Krish Dhanam

Melissa’s Words of Wisdom

A few years back I got the honor of seeing Krish Dhanam speak at the ‘Get Motivated’ Seminar here in Raleigh, NC.  He is a great speaker and many of the things he said resonated with me.  I was reviewing my notes and I came across this quote.  I know I’ve heard variations of this same quote before, but this time it hit me in a different way.  I thought to myself there are many things I would say “I am glad I did…. ” but I realized I had been shining a bright light on those past accomplishments that had happened a while ago.  What about the here and now??? I realized in my here and now, I have many things that I am wanting and wishing to create, but haven’t gone out and created yet.  This quote brought to light, yet again, the power of the present moment!  Live NOW, not in the past!  You can celebrate those past accomplishments and learn and grow from them, but don’t shine a light too bright on them that you begin to neglect the power in the present moment to create. 3 commets “Present Moments: What Will You Say?

I love this saying. Living in the past doesn’t do much for your present, because again you are more focused on what you did earlier in life, than what you are currently doing in your life. If only i could start living more in the present, and stop focusing so much on my past, because my past was not as bright as most people. I had a dark past that has made me who i am today, and i am proud that i have accomplished as much as i did in my past because i dont know who i would be today if i didn’t go thought the things i did when i was younger.

What great insight Angela! It’s amazing how much our lives can change when we embrace our pasts and appreciate them for what they were meant to teach us. It’s very enlightening, not to mention it makes it so much easier to progress forward too!
Thanks again for sharing Angela! xo
