Today’s Mind Energy Workout topic is Belief and how positive and uplifting beliefs are not an option, but rather they are necessary to your success! It’s necessary to your health, your happiness, and your wealth. I chose this for today’s lesson because I am really passionate about helping others find that belief within themselves to go out there and create a better, more purposeful life.
Too often we go through the routine of our day to day lives, without stopping to check in and evaluate where our beliefs are at. We are on autopilot and don’t stop long enough to cause in interruption in thought patterns and beliefs that don’t serve us.
I would venture to guess most people tend to have waaaaaay more knowledge and skill than they do belief in themselves. The reason I know this to be true is because I just have to look at results. Results don’t lie. If we actually believed in everything we knew at an intellectual level, then we would be out there taking action on everything we knew intellectually and we would have the results to prove it, but that’s usually not the case. Usually we KNOW much much more than we are out there actually DOING… and it shows!!
Napoleon Hill says “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. You have to intellectually conceive the idea in your mind and then have the belief in that idea and yourself and if you have both, then you can achieve it.
What happens in the absence of one or both of these? Well you may find yourself feeling stuck and failing to take action on your ideas and goals. For example, if you haven’t fully conceived the idea or goal, meaning the image that you are holding in your mind is unclear, it’s vague and fuzzy. Then when you are presented with an opportunity to do something you may waiver, you may be indecisive, and might just be talking yourself out of something because you are just not sure if it supports the image in your mind. The image just isn’t crystal clear enough.
Now even if you have fully conceived the idea or goal, you may will still fail to take action on it if you don’t believe in yourself and/or the goal. You may not believe in yourself enough to think that it could really happen to you. You don’t believe in the idea or goal that you’re holding in your mind. It doesn’t mean you don’t want it, you may want it really really bad, you may sit and pray and meditate on that idea, that goal, but it will never come to fruition if the belief is missing. By law, lack of belief will prevent it from coming into your life.
So it’s about conceiving the idea and believing in it and yourself! Remember, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. I know I struggled with this myself. I mean did I really think that I was going to be able to leave a good paying corporate job, make a complete career change, and build a successful business from the button up? I mean, at the time it seemed like a tall order and I just wasn’t sure if I believed in myself enough to be able to pull it off. Needless to say, I had some work to do. You may be thinking the same thing.
Where do you start? First, it’s necessary you understand a little bit more about your belief systems. Your beliefs reside in your subconscious mind and after years of studying this information, I have learned that our belief system is based on our evaluation of something. How and if you entertain a newer, bigger, and better idea, is based on our current beliefs. If we can’t really see ourselves living a certain lifestyle and being a certain person, then we will never truly entertain that idea and we will never challenge and re-evaluate that limited belief that says it’s not possible for us.
Now, on the contrary, if you are ready and willing to break through a limiting belief, it starts with putting your thought process in check. ..do a check up from the neck up. The more you put yourself in check and deliberately re-evaluate something your belief about that something will change. For example, when it came to leaving my corporate day job and starting my own business, I had the belief of “I can’t do that, I’m not educated enough to run a business, I don’t have the time or money to invest in something like that. I’d like to, but I can’t” I then began to re-evaluate and challenge those limiting beliefs to a point where I shifted and begin to believe “well, wait a minute, maybe I can do that, I can I do that, I can learn, I can make the time, I can find the money. I can earn the money. If I want it, I can earn it“
The more I begin to put those limiting beliefs in check and re-evaluate myself, who I was, what I was doing with my life and my career, the more my belief in myself and this information began to shift. I began to quit wishing for things and I found I was ready to receive them.
The magic question you may be thinking to yourself right now is, “How do I do that… how do I make a shift in my beliefs and go from I can’t to I can. What does it take to really do that???”
Well, It requires a shift in your thinking. I’m sure you have heard the saying “What you think about you bring about” or that “We ultimately become that which we think about all day long.” You see, it’s your thoughts that create your world your reality.
If you want to change any result that you getting in your life, you must be willing to entertain new ideas, to re-evaluate how you think and your thought patterns. You may ask yourself “Is that really true? It is really true that I can’t do something? That I can’t make the time, that I can’t earn the money?” Begin to defuse the power of that limiting belief to know that those are not true. Be willing to entertain the possibility of it. Start there. Entertain that it is possible. Begin to entertain more ideas of how it could be and can be, and not the way it is today. The more you do it, the more your belief in yourself will begin to shift and the clearer the image in your mind will become. Again, Napoleon Hill says, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”.
As you continue to do this repetitively, you will begin to look beyond the current results in your life. No longer will you allow your current results dictate your future. You will know intellectually and believe full heartedly that your current results do not reflect your potential. You will see and believe your potential to be infinite, you will have the awareness to know that it’s your mind that limits you, but your possibilities truly are endless. When you truly become aware of this, and live into and from this, is when everything in your life will change.
This truth has had such a huge impact on my life. I no longer am imprisoned by limiting beliefs! Of course I still have them, but I now have the awareness to know that I can change them, I can break free of them. Some are easier than others to break free from and release, but I just take it day by day and know that in every way I am strong and stronger because of it.
I know you’re ready to take this next step and begin building your own self-belief, so here’s your Call To Action:
I invite you to go into this next week with a very conscious mind. I would like you to LISTEN very carefully to yourself talk and be listening for some key words such as “I can’ts, I don’t haves, I had no choice, I ALWAYS this or I NEVER that – those absolutes, the I shoulda coulda wouldas.” Those are some key words that should be signals for you to stop for a moment and re-evaluate and challenge those thoughts. This takes work, it takes your conscious deliberate attention. First step is always awareness. Become aware of the limiting beliefs. Second step is re-evaluation. Begin to find out if that limited belief is serving you? Once you agree that it is not, begin to affirm what you would like to believe… then it’s affirm affirm affirm… repetition, repetition, repetition.
There you have it my friends, your free Mind Energy Workout! Some teaching, motivation, and a Call To Action.
Looking forward to our next workout together!!
