“If you want to see where someone develops into a champion, look at their daily routine.” ~ John C.Maxwell

Melissa’s Words of Wisdom

It’s your daily activity and rituals that you create that make the difference in who you become and what results you create.  I remember a few years back when I was training for a full marathon.  I did not really become a marathon runner on race day, but rather it was the daily commitment for the five months leading up to race day that truly made me a marathon runner.  You don’t achieve a big dream or become a great leader overnight.  Sometimes I wish that was the case, but reality always reminds me of the process, the journey, that is involved in becoming a greater version of myself.  Remember, nothing happens until you decide to take action!  Leave a comment below about what success rituals you have and/or are developing.  Happy Becoming a Champion Through Daily Rituals!!

This is funny that this was the WOW today. I have recently begun trying to structure my days as much as possible. I recently had my third baby and he is still fairly unpredictable, but I was going crazy with no routine. I was starting to feel like I was never going to get anything accomplished. For this time in my life, I have realized that the best way to achieve things is to have a plan, but make it a flexible one. My biggest goal right now is to exercise for half an hour a day and lose my last round of baby weight…forever! Instead of trying to plan a specific time to workout, I just plan on doing it as soon as he goes down for his first nap…whenever that is! To prepare, I now go to bed in my workout clothes, have a meal plan ready so that breakfast is just made and I don’t have to decide what to have that morning. I also pack my oldest child’s lunch the night before and set out my two older boys’ clothes the night before as well. I’m still figuring out how to get our routine just the way I like it, but it IS working. I have exercised all three days this week. I know that as I continue to tweak it, I will be able to accomplish more and more as time goes on. I have definitely figured out that without any kind of plan or routine, NOTHING gets done. For me, a flexible routine has been a good start.
