How do you wish to be treated? Do people honor your wishes? If not, realize you are setting the example. It is up to YOU to create boundaries that, first and foremost, YOU honor and respect. If you don’t honor and respect your own boundaries, how can you expect others to? In order to create healthy boundaries for yourself, you must get very clear about what you will and won’t tolerate in your life… i.e. Others speaking rudely to you, being pushed around or pushed aside, others not honoring your time, being taken advantage of, being lied to, etc. It’s not only important for you to know what’s tolerable and what’s not, but it’s also important to plan ahead and know what you would do if one of your boundaries was crossed. You see, when one of our boundaries has been crossed, it usually generates negative energy for us, so clarity and planning ahead are our friends here! How will you communicate? How will you handle it? What will you do/say? Happy Creating Healthy Boundaries!
